American Dreams and American Idol

This evening Drew and I had an ice cream treat as we watched American Idol. I offered a bite to Lily, and she went crazy. It was so funny. She just never gets that excited about solid foods.

Six Month appointment

Lily had her 6 month appointment today. She weighs 19 lbs 1 oz and is 27 and 1/2 inches long. What a big girl!

Whatever Lily is doing, Kate jumps up and has to do it too. She loves to play with Lily soooo much, it makes me laugh.

Doing anything to avoid studying for an Anatomy Practical

Last weekend, my In-laws spent the weekend in Evansville. We were pretty excited because their hotel had a swimming pool. I went and found Kate's swim suit from last year (I thought it would fit, its a 2T), and BOY! did Kate hate it. She cried and cried when we put it on.
Since I have been pregnant the last two summers, I have no swimsuit, so I had to make due with shorts and t-shirt. The water was cold and Kate refused to let go of me.(the pool was shallow enough for her to stand) As you can see in the picture, she hand is gripping my shirt as if she is holding on for dear life. (Oh, I just realized what was in the background of this picture, oops!)
Lily even got in on the action, but only for about 2 seconds.
This happened today, she stumbled on her way down the stairs and hit her eye just perfect on the wall. It barely bleed at all, but it sure looks icky. ( F.Y.I, I didn't ask her to make this face)

Snow and Ice in Evansville

Yesterday at one pm, it started snowing, and then it started raining ice. Schools were let out early yesterday, and I was fortunate not to have my Anatomy and Physiology class last night or my Nutrition class this morning. The picture above is how much ice was on top of everything.
Drew and I took Kate out before he left for work. She wasn't as excited as we hoped. She couldn't walk because she wasn't heavy enough to break the ice on the ground.

Checking out the road's condition with Daddy.
And where was Lily, you ask? In our bed, warm and toasty, and asleep.

Because the yard was ice, Drew decided to see if Kate could "skate" across it. It worked better than he thought

Popcorn popping

Kate loves to sing the Popcorn song. Here is her rendition of the motions.

Lily loves to lay on her back and play with her toes. I jokingly say that she will never crawl because she is too content in whatever position I put her in. She is just the most easy-going baby I have ever seen.
She has been sitting up better though: here she got distracted by the camera (and Kate)
Its almost like she doesn't realize she just fell over. She is still just hanging on her pants. Oh, to be that content.
Kate loves, loves, loves to show Lily how to do things. Here she is trying to get Lily to push a button on her barn/animal thing that makes noise.
Another favorite pasttime of Kate's is putting things on Lily's head. I don't get it, but it sure is cute.
