So you think you can dance?

While helping Alisha clean her room, the girls got into the music. And FYI, I did not teach Kate how to dance like that-it was all her dad!

Our power is back!!!!

This winter's snowstorm left us without power, so we spent the week at my mom's house. It was quite a week!

Lily helping Andrew and Dakota sand, what this picture doesn't show is that two seconds after I took it, Lily took too many steps forward and rolled down the steps. She was too fast for anyone to catch, she is fine though, just scared.

The girls raiding Alisha's shoes. Hours of fun, hours.

Wii Fit.
Playing soccer on the Wii.

Andrew's snow angel. And Andrew making his snow angel.

Celebrating Mama's birthday. We love you.

Kate refused to go out and play in the snow, so Lily had all the fun sledding with Andrew and Alisha.

Mom's house after the first of the storm. See her trees bending under the weight of the ice and snow.

We gotta go back up.
All bundled up!
It was a fun, even if we were off our normal schedule. The roads are still ridiculous, and the kids haven't gone to school since Monday, and they are not sure if there will be power in all the schools for Monday. What an adventure.

From Pacifiers to Potties

For the past few weeks, Kate has been "practicing" at potty training. I could get her to sit on the potty, but only after her bath and with promising her candy, but the whole candy thing was not quite as motivational as I thought it would be. So yesterday I decided to try something new: movie time. Every time she went potty she was allowed to watch 10 minutes of a movie-and voila! It actually worked!!! Well, sort of, she still doesn't tell me when she has to go, but she will go when I ask her to. So the journey has started, not something I am too excited about, but a necessary part of having children. Also, on Tuesday we were at target and she was transfixed by Sleeping Beauty underwear, and I promised when she started keeping her pull-ups dry we would come back and get them. Wish us luck!!!

Kate and Lily LOVE to help with dishes. Kate will push up a chair and climb on and Lily is never far behind her.

Daddy loves having his little helpers.

cMoe

Last month Emily, Andrew, Drew, Mom, the girls, and I went to the Children's Museum here in town. We had a great time. Kate and Lily playing the pipes with flip-flops.

Climbing the stairs in the under 5 room

Digging in a pit of rice.

More digging. Lily and Kate liked the rice box the best, and they were great at sharing and playing with the other kids. We can't wait to go back.

I know I have been a super blogger the past few days, but I had to put this on. Drew was at eBash today when he got a surprise visit from a local news team that wanted to do an interview!! It was on the 5 o' clock news, so we set up a table and ate dinner while watching Daddy become a tv star. Go Drew!!! That's Kate in the background saying Daddy Daddy. Oh, and the sounds isn't great, so you will definitely have to turn up your speakers.

Baby Dolls and Snow

Have you every seen anything so cute? I know I haven't! Yesterday we had a fun time feeding our babies.

This morning we woke up to snow! So, we stomped outside to enjoy the white stuff.

Kate all bundled up.
Lily, caught in the small amount of time she was not falling down and getting soaked.

Tasty!
Unfortunately, we could only play outside for about ten minutes because the ground was so muddy from yesterday's rain that Lily was soaked to the bone and covered in mud in record time.

A sad day for the Heckert babies

Today Kate went to the dentist, and he found the beginning of an over-bite and advised me to get rid of the pacifiers while her mouth can still return to normal.
So, Kate and I went shopping!
I found a doll for Lily and a cute dog for Kate to "trade" for the pacifiers.
They had to throw away their "pacers" in order to get the toys.
It was hard to see them both take such a big step, but they went to bed pretty good, we will see what happens in the next few days. Oh, my babies are so big!

A fun sunday

This Sunday was pretty exciting because there was an article in the paper about Drew and his store eBash. The article was great and we are hoping it will help bring more people in.
We love when Meggie, Russ, and Elizabeth come to visit!

I love my puppy sweater!
"Bite." "Bite!"
So serious.

More family pictures!

This Christmas all of my family was in town, and we got the chance to take family pictures.
A huge milestone happened this year: Alisha had to get glasses! She is the last one in our family to take the plunge, so we had to document it. Our poor kids don't stand a chance.

The kids all wearing their school sweatshirts! How cute;)

A christmas review

The girls' favorite gift; a play kitchen.
