Christmas with the Heckerts

This Christmas we got to spend time with both sides of the family, which was wonderful. These are pictures of Christmas morning with Drew's parents and brother. Kate usually loves to hold Lily, but I think all the excitement was getting to her.
Of course, the only thing she wants to play with is Lily's.
This is Drew's older brother Reed. We were really excited to see him and his wife. Kate is trying to figure out what are on Reed's pants and Lily is trying to find an escape route.

Busy Weekend!

This weekend has been crazy! On Friday we went to see Santa at the Library.
Lily spit up all over herself about 5 minutes into the program and then promptly fell asleep.
This had to be the best part. I can't wait to pull this out in about 16 years.
Other than seeing Santa, Lily went to the doctor and weighs 15 lbs 10 oz. I think she is beating Kate at her 4 month weight. I am going to have giant children! Also, we bought a HOUSE!!!! Yeah! No more living in an apartment.I feel so grown up.

18 month Doctor's appointment

Kate went to the Doctor's this week, and man! she is a big girl. She weighed 30 lbs and is now 35 and 1/2 inches.

Snowman Song

Kate went to her first day of nursery this past weekend and learned the "Snowman Song." She wants to do it all the time. She usually does it better than this, but I can't get her to calm down when I turn the camera down. Also, I can't figure out how to turn the video around and Drew isn't here, so you just have to turn your head.

We made it!

This weekend is one for the record books; Drew graduated AND Kate is going to start nursery!!!!!!!!!! ( Lily has one year, four months, and one week until she takes the plunge)
Kate was riveted by all the pomp and circumstance
And with the help of Grandma, Lily gave a grin for the camera

A little camera happy

Mommy's little copy cat
Fun in the bath! (Yeah, its blue, I don't think our apartment has been renovated, or cleaned, since 1971)
Playing computer games with Daddy
Still refusing to smile for the camera.

Guess what? We do get hurricanes in the Midwest.

Our Hurricane's name was Kate. The top picture happened this morning while I was putting together Christmas cards. I thought she was a little too quiet, and this is what I saw when I found her. She had pulled clothes out of the dirty clothes basket and off the hangers in the closets, and she had pulled a few of my shoes out of their boxes. So, we cleaned it up and I got in the shower...

During my five minute shower, this occurred. Yes, that's right, it is a whole can of formula dumped on the floor along with the other contents of my diaper bag. Its been a long morning to say the least. I have to go now, the storm is warming up again as Kate is practicing her new found talent of throwing things away that don't belong in the trash.

Fun in December

This is the only way Drew gets a nap anymore.
Kate has been so sweet since Lily got here. She loves to play "Mommy" ( by the way, ignore the mess in the background, it was laundry day and Kate loves to pull all the clothes off the couch onto the floor. The papers were mail.) Here she is reading a book to her baby. I tried to get it on video, but she stopped as soon as she saw the camcorder ( do they still call them that?)
Lily refuses to smile for the camera, this is as close as I have gotten. She is a little mischievous, that one.
Kate loves shoes as much as I do. She is constantly trying to put them on or put them on me.

Santa Switch!

This saturday was santa switch night! Jonny, Lisha, and Andrew all went, and I tried to get pictures of them all, but Jonny was sneaky and left before I could take any of him.
This is how enthusiastic dad was about the whole thing. For all my sisters, I just wanted to let you know that he was just as grouchy with this dance as he was for our dances. Some things will never change.
As usual, Kate steals the spotlight from everyone.

More cute baby faces

Still trying to figure blogging out.

Okay, confession, I just figured out you can comment on blogs. Who knew how interactive the computer could be? So, I went back and read the comments that were made on my blog, luckily I didn't miss too many. I feel like such a dork sometimes with computers. I guess that is why I married Drew.

Funny Babies

This is the face I get whenever I ask Kate to smile. She looks like she is going to eat me.
My two girls are getting soooo big!
Alisha captured this look in the car after church. I am not sure what thought is connected with that look.
I know I take a lot of pictures of Kate crying, but really, she rarely ever does cry, so I think it is funny to capture the moment.
See how cute she normally is?

Tagged by Elizabeth

Okay, I think I have this straight. I have to list 6 habits/traits, and then tag 6 other people. I think I am in trouble because Elizabeth tagged the only people I know! Anyway, here it goes
1. I research/plan EVERYTHING! I mean it, anything and everything that comes into my life I have to look up on the Internet and/or read a book about it. When I was pregnant, I think I read at least 30 sites on fetal development in my first trimester alone. Right now we are looking for houses, and I have read no less then six books on home loans and finding the perfect house. I have also made a buget made for if we buy a house and one for if we stay in the apartment. Also, I have planned out when, where, and how Drew will be getting his master's (He will graduate with his B.S. in December). Too bad I know that most of the time stuff doesn't work out like you plan it. Oh well. If you have a question about anything, I will find the answer for you.

2.I love to work out. If I go more than a day without working out, I get grumpy, just ask Drew. I love to feel my hear pumping and feel the sweat. It makes me feel strong. I have thought about becoming a personal trainer after I graduate with my nutrition degree.

3.I hate cleaning, mess does not bother me. So, it works well for me. Drew, unfortunately likes things clean, so that has been an interesting part of our marriage. We have worked out a compromise, though: He doesn't comment on how messy the house is/isn't and I try to clean at least once every day for at least ten minutes. For anyone that has met Kate and seen how tiny our apartment is, you know that if I tried to keep the house clean all day, thats all I would do.

4.I love, love, love shoes. I have way too many, but it doesn't stop me from getting more. Shoes, unlike jeans, just always fit.

5. I check facebook about 4 times a day. It is pathetic, I know, but I love to see what is going on in people's lives.

6. I watch The Biggest Loser obsessively. I have even thought about gaining a bunch of weight so I could be on the show. Then, I think, well, how would I guarantee I would actually get on the show?

Now, six people? Not going to happen, seriously, everyone I know has already been tagged. Sorry Elizabeth, none of my friends in Indiana blog.

Halloween for the Gruesome Twosome!

Now introducing the cutest kids in the Midwest!
Little Red Riding Hood and the BIG BAD Wolf!

As you can tell, Lily was really excited for Halloween.

Here they are at Grandma Heckert's house.

Our Ward had a Trunk or Treat, and Kate got to hit a Pinata.

This Red Riding Hood likes to ride a horse to her Grandma's House.

Silly Kate

Kate has started insisting that she feed herself. As you can see, it takes longer to clean up the food than make it.
Playing at Grandma's!
She is working on her dance video here. Oh, and for a quick family update, Drew has had two job offers so far, one in Vincennes, and one here in Evansville. We haven't heard from the companies in Indy or SABIC.

Its fun to match!

They are now my new favorite outfits. I think this is the only picture I have of Kate smiling cutely since she was 9 months old, most of the time she makes the strangest faces when I get the camera out.
Kate constantly wants to hold Lily. At the rate Lily is growing, Kate won't be able to much longer.
Kate loves to share her Cheez-its.
Its amazing that Kate was Lily's size just a year ago.

Week 9 (I think)

Lily is starting to get so big! She is out of her 0-3 month clothes already! She is such a sweet and loving baby. I just love having her around. We have also hit the halfway point for this semester, which is so exciting. Only 8 more weeks. Drew has two second interviews in the next few weeks, one in Indy and the other in St. Louis. We will see what happens.

Blessing pictures

Finally, blessing pictures. Mom made a beautifull dress once again.
As you can see, Kate was not a happy camper.

We tried everything to get Kate to sit still...

Candy worked, but only for about two pictures.
