Switzerland Day 1

On July 3rd Drew and I headed out for a trip to Switzerland. Drew's company Edward Jones has trips set up for its Financial Advisers to win and Drew was able to earn his first one this year. We stayed in a little town called Interlaken and spent a week basking in the beauty of Switzerland.
Our first full day we went on a boat tour of Interlaken, which is situated between the Thun and Brienz lakes.
 Outside our paddle boat.
A little town on the banks of the lake. The water in the lakes is a beautiful color.
 Enjoying the view
At the local grocery store, enjoying a different view: a whole aisle of just Swiss chocolate.
We spent so much time in the Co-op ( the name of the grocery store) watching the locals and trying new foods. We found this bread that was amazing!
A very funny little band that was playing our first night. They sang a bunch of American oldies and tried to look cool. Hilarious.
 Another beautiful view.
Our hotel, the Victoria Jungfrau.

nashville Summer Regional 2012

Every year Edward Jones gets its regions together for a weekend family conference. Last year we went to St. Louis and this year we were lucky enough to go to Nashville. We stayed right downtown and got to experience the fun of Music City.
We went to lunch on Friday at this neat little place with great bar-b-que.

Walking down Broadway (the center of Downtown) was hot so we stopped for some ice cream!

Friday night we headed to the Wildhorse Saloon for food, fun, and some line dancing. There was live music and dance instruction.

 There was also face painting...
 and some games
Elise was the only one that really got into the dancing, but it was sure fun to try line dancing.

After dinner and dancing, Drew treated us to a carriage ride..a great way to see any city.

Nashville Zoo

On satuday we braved the heat and visited the Nashville Zoo. It was great to hang out with Drew and to see all the animals.

Glasses and swim lessons

Last week Kate received a surprise birthday present: Glasses! I first got glasses at 6, so I was not surprised to hear of Kate's need. Her doctor is the same Doctor I grew up going to and when he walked in to deliver the news he said to Kate "Its like looking at your mom all over again!" Dr. Woods is going to love our family! Kate had a great time trying on different frames and ultimately chose some very cute purple frames. How fun it is to be a girl!

Another thing we are doing this summer is swimming lessons. Kate and Lily are really having fun, and Lily is proving to be a little fish!
Elise and I hang out at the splash park while Kate and Lily have their lessons. So pretty in Purple!

Kate turns 6!

This year my 6/06/06 baby turned 6! She had a great birthday and recieved lots of great presents. It is unbeliveable that I have a 6 year-old, but it has been a joyous ride. We love you Kate!

May 2012

May was hot and sticky in Evansville! We spent enormous amounts of time outside playing on our new swing set! Best thing we have ever bought!

The best part of May was school getting out for the summer! We were so excited to have Kate at home with us. It has been great to get back to more laid back mornings with no need to rush out the door.
This is Kate's last day of school picture:

The blur also known as April

Here is a quick overview of April, boy it went by fast!
Above: Elise, exploiting the time I spent doing dishes.
 Playing with Play-doh
Once again, here is Elise taking advantage of anytime I am not putting my full attention on her and getting on the table to get at the candy I thought would be safe up there!
 Easter!

April was a great month, but it seems the only occasion I don't have any pictures for is Drew's 30th birthday. Sorry Drew! For his birthday we spent the day together, celebrating a wonderful Daddy and husband; we are so lucky to have him in our lives!
