The trouble with boredom

I was bored this afternoon, so I got on the internet while Kate and Lily played on the floor. (Played is a strong word, lets say Kate played while Lily prayed for divine protection.) When I noticed Kate wielding a pen, I told her "Not for Kate," and "Be gentle with Lily." I thought that would be enough, How naive. Five minutes late I pick up Lily and notice the Kate has used her head to express her artistic ablity. Oops! I am anxious for when Lily can fight back, or at least move out of the way.

Our next project is the basement. Yesterday we demolished all the existing walls, and we will start working on it next week! We are nearing the finish line of our remodel. I can't believe it.

Over Christmas we took the girls to get their pictures taken. They were great, but we couldn't get Lily to smile.

One more before and After

This is our bedroom. The top picture doesn't do the ugliness justice. The walls, ceiling, and trim were all this gross blue color, and the carpet was hideous. We painted and pulled up the carpet to find beautiful hardwood underneath.

House update

Its been a crazy two weeks for the Heckerts! On Jan 31st we moved into our house and immediately started renovating. These are some before and after pictures of what we have done. Above is our very, very green bathtub.
And Green counter top, and wall, and toilet (even though you can't see it)
Here is the after. We had the tub, tile, and counter top all refinished to white, and we painted the walls blue and put in new tile.
This was Kate and Lily's room before.
And after a million coats of paint and new carpet.
