Lily is ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday Lily turned one and my Dad turned 52. We had a little party to celebrate. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, and baked beans-YUM!
Yes, I said 52, but when the cake was made, something got mixed up. At least we are covered for next year.

Blowing out candles.
This was Lily's "cake" I love that they are not old enough to have a say in what we eat on their birthday.

My Grandma Eva was kind enough to bring a little gift for Kate to open.
Lily opening her first present!!!

A puzzle.

The morning of her birthday we went for a family walk, this is her in the car on the way to the park. The book is how I keep the girls occupied during trips.
For play group on Lily's birthday, we went to a really fun park. This is our friend Alana pushing Lily on the swing. Lily will sit in these swings forever if I let her.
My great friend Ally pushing Kate.
Lily is so adventurous! She was climbing all over the play set at the park. I turned my back to find Kate and in that spit second Lily had climbed all the way to the slide at the top!

Lily's first steps!

Today Lily took her first steps! I was coaxing her forward with a sucker when she decided to surprise me. I can't believe how big she is getting.

July Pictures

Smiles all around!
I was feeding Lily, turned to get something out of the fridge, and when I turned back around I found Kate feeding Lily ( along with helping herself to a few bites!)

White Sands Park

While in New Mexico, we visited White Sands Park. It was beautiful: miles and miles of beautiful white sand.
The girls loved playing in the sand.

Lily could be the little poster child for this park, she is so cute in her diaper covered with sand! By the way, Kate refused to get her picture taken during this excursion, so that is why there are so many of just Lily.

I could have looked at this view all day.

I almost forgot! Some great news.

Drew finally received the green light for his business loan, so we are beginning the journey of starting up a small business. We are hoping to open in about three months. Drew is giddy with excitement, while I am clinging to the last few months of corporate security. Here's to his ambitious, free spirit that I do not have!

Arriving in New Mexico

Coloring in the backyard at Grandma's house
We went on a tour of the pistachio farm in Alamogordo. It was so cool.
She really wasn't that excited about the pistachios
But she loves her bottle!
Yummy strawberries
This is Lily's new crawling style. She hates hates hates to put her knees down on anything hard. What a princess.
We went to Mcdonald's to wait for the zoo to open.
Making all the Zoo animals jealous with my cracker.
